Mission Statement
As a professionally directed racing program, the Smithers Ski Club strives to promote the sports of alpine skiing and snowboarding by enabling all if its members the opportunity to reach their full potential.
SSC Objectives:
* Promote Sportsmanship
* Promote competition in a fun and safe environment
* Introduce athletes to all aspects of skiing, snowboarding, fitness and nutrition
* Provide progressive training opportunities for all levels of athletes
* Produce positive, confident and determined individuals
* Provide open and continuous communication between athletes, parents, coaches, executive members,
coordinators and club representatives
* Strive for commitment and excellence
History of the Club
The Smithers Ski Club (SSC) has been training athletes for thirty years. Thanks to the tireless dedication of parents and coaches, the SSC has produced many provincial and national team members. At its height, the club boasted thirty alpine members, twelve of which were racing at the elite FIS level and burning up the province.
Board of Directors
Our board of directors is made up of committed volunteers. Members of our 2011 board of directors are:
